Sewanee Writers' Conference, Guest Reading for new words {press}, and Finishing the Manuscript

Hello all!

Having just finished the first year of my MFA at University of Miami, I thought I'd update y'all on what I'll be doing this summer.

First, I'm currently working as a guest reader for the fourth issue of new words {press}! Submissions are open now on Submittable; if you're a trans/gender-expansive poet, please submit here. Thanks to brooklyn baggett for the opportunity!

Additionally, I found out recently that I've been chosen to attend Sewanee Writers' Conference for two weeks in July. I'm so happy to be attending an event with so many fantastic artists.

This conference is exactly the environment I needed to refine my manuscript. Much of this summer will be spent writing and improving what will become my first full length collection. I won't give much away; more info will be available in the following year as I finish my MFA.

Lastly, I'd like to remark on how lovely the people in my program are. They're empathetic and driven in such a way that inspires me to work harder on my writing than ever before. I can't wait to start teaching creative writing classes in the fall while finishing up my thesis.

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to summer.

Cheers!

Rose
